    The State Journal, an award-winning newspaper in Frankfort, Ky., is seeking a sports reporter. Coverage includes three local high schools and Kentucky State University, a Division II school, and University of Kentucky basketball and football when time and schedules permit. Skills and requirements: demonstrated experience with InDesign; a passion, energy and knack for local sports from golf to cross country and everything in between; column and feature writing; fast, accurate reporting and editing;. Pluses: familiarity with audio and visual multimedia and eagerness to learn more for an expanding online operation, and photography. The State Journal, published Sunday- Friday with a circulation of 8,000 -10,000, is in the capital of Kentucky and one of the nation’s most beautiful. It’s also in Central Kentucky's bluegrass and horse country, the stuff of postcards and Hollywood movies. It’s convenient to metropolitan Cincinnati, Louisville, and Lexington, the three points on Kentucky's 'Golden Triangle.’ Two years daily newspaper work preferred but exceptional experience with a weekly will be considered.     Don't expect the pay to be real good. But there are good preps there, and Carl West is a great editor to work for I've been told.

    Ypu're close to Lexington and Louisville. I haven;t seen the State Journal at too many UK games however.

    Anyone know who is leaving?

    Susan's leaving, but staying in town apparently with some other company.

    Frankfort does staff most Louisville home hoops games.
