    Terrific story.
    Two things:
*The lead was outstanding. Simple and powerful.
*The thing about the writer and paying for the wife/kids to visit? Very generous of Munson. A writer could accept that?

Coffey left out a few critical -- and widely reported -- details about Munson's last moments. After being asked by Munson if they were OK, the passengers asked Munson if he was alright. He said, "I don't know. I can't move. I can't move." Munson wasn't just trapped, his neck was broken and his spine damaged, facts Coffey also missed.

Again, all this has been well-documented and reported in previous stories.

Well done. Wayne is one of the top feature guys in the business and a gentleman. When I see his byline, I read the story, no matter what the topic.

I love those old Daily News front pages -- the odd phrasings on the heds, the very basic layout.

If he was a 33-year old columnist, I wouldn't read him on principle.
  12. Terrific piece.
