Daily grind

I just freelanced a story to a daily. I've been at this weekly almost 4 years (after 10 years at dailies) and I forgot how tough it is to write on deadline. My Mondays and Tuesdays are maddening, and I write lots of stories under deadline pressure, but tonight was different. I hope the story turns out OK.

Any other weeklyites go through this?

Anybody else, maybe those of you who are getting older, think this thread might have been about something else?

I could use a daily grind, HH. Yeah, that kind of grind.

Speaking of which ... the guy sitting next to me in the pressbox is reviewing the officials. Between periods he asks me to suggest local watering holes where he and the refs can relax and have a beer, and if there's a strip joint around. I oblige him and tell him where to find the goods. He seemed quite pleased.
