Most folks probably aren't familiar with longtime UK golf writer Dai Davies, who died Monday after a battle with cancer. A few weeks ago, knowing the end was near, a fellow scribe asked if he was angry about what was happening him. His response struck a chord with me and I thought I'd share it...

“I have lived the life I always wanted to, working for a newspaper I always wanted to, going to lovely places around the world, populated in the main by people I would have chosen to be with. Surely, no journalist could ask for more?”

    Indeed.

Dai was a class act and graced every media center he was in. His wife Patricia is a lovely gal. They're not making 'em like this any more, on either side of the pond.
