I'm pretty sure he was just poking a little fun at the thread title. ....

As for the punishment, I like it. It gets a message across.

Then here's the viewpoint of this guy with no kids: Dad of the year.

I have no children yet and I love what this dad made his son do. The kid is a wannabe gang member (spray painting fictitious gang stuff). Let the little punk get out there and be humiliated. There's nothing wrong with that. If an adult does something really stupid like that, they're taking a chance of being plastered on the news, so let the kid see what he has in store for him. I hope he learns his lesson from this. And it seems like he has a dad with a good head on his shoulders, so maybe he can help prevent his son from making it into a real gang.

Sounds like a dad with his heart in the right place. I am not sure whether this punishment will have a positive or negative effect, though.

Wonder what a child/family psychologist would say.

What's good enough for Nathaniel Hawthorne, is good enough for me.

    Fucking stupid.

    Self-serving bullshit.

But, hey, Dad, you're such a bad ass!

I'd agree if this was his first attempt to get through to his little studio gangsta of a son, but if this was, say, attempt No. 100 to make this kid understand, he has my admiration. At least he's trying, which is more than can be said for far too many parents.

I like it a lot for the reason stated above.

I don't think humiliating your children, even privately, is a sign of good parenting.

It's a father paying attention to his son. That's a good start in my book.

I don't have kids, but I *loved* it!

From the comments the boy made, it sounds like he has (hopefully) learned his lesson.
