Can somebody inform me why d_b is the shortcut for duplicate posts?

A poster named deep_background tends to post really old news he finds on BLOGS!!! and post it as if it's brand-spanking new. Even David Aldridge mocks him.

So if someone posts a duplicate thread...d_b.
  3. Now if we can just come up with a shorthand for someone who posts topics on the wrong board ...

My own question reminded me of one board for fans of the team I cover. They kept calling each other HF's. I thought they were referring to each other as Hall of Famers. Someone then posted a question like mine, asking what HF stood for.

Turns out it means "Humorless fucks."

Which would probably explain the "A comment on mother ship trolls" sticky thread over there. Dude who wrote that is a serious asshole. :D
