Cabarrouy's wife just gave birth to a baby boy last month.

Three of the four terminations in sports were Latinos. Aside from Hinojosa, TDMN also eliminated the only staffer in the whole department who was truly biliterate (Cabarrouy) and an experienced desker (Gonzalez).

For whatever reason, sports' Latino representation has taken the brunt of the hits since work reductions became a regular thing with Belo. The eliminations have also claimed people who, while not Hispanic in name, grew up in bicultural environments as they relate to Texas' border with Mexico.

Sports sections in Houston and San Antonio have Hispanics in high-profile positions, yet TDMN's, the biggest of them all, is devoid of any visible Latino representation. That's too bad, because Dallas-Fort Worth is getting more Hispanic by the second, and its sports landscape is changing right with it.

One piece of good news for Belo: a patent has been granted for CueCat. They can now begin recouping some of the $40M they wasted invested.

Jovan Philyaw used to be on a late night computer show in dallas. more than a tad arrogant, probably one of the precursors to today's douchebag.

As to the Hispanic layoffs in sports at that sewer, they don't call SportsDay Archie Bunker's favorite sports section for nothing. Rest assured, it's an equal opportunity ejection seat for anyone who isn't a WMBIT _ white man born in Texas. Place is cronyism at its zenith. Next bulletin: Some of those guys still left will be having each other's love child...DNA, speaketh! Wmbits live!! But, uh, the stock in that place is another story... worth about 90 cents a share _ that's what WMBITs get.

Wait for it...his post always comes after he quotes someone else. Most efficient post-padding I've ever seen.
