This is the day to buy DVDs.
Just bought Mad Men on DVD at Amazon for 9.99 for first three seasons. Best Buy has same seasons in Blu-Ray for 9.99.

 

I've never watched The Wire -- was so depressed reading The Corner, that I didn't want to revisit Baltimore's drug scene. By the time everyone told me I should be watching it, I never made time for the DVDs.

So I figured today would be the perfect time to buy the series on DVD, but I can't find any good deals. A bad Cyber Monday.

 

A lot of HBO's stuff goes on sale on Christmas Eve, or at least it has with Best Buy.

 

Is anyone doing any shopping for someone other than themselves? Not that I am...

 

I have seen The Wire on Amazon for around $70-80, which isn't too bad for the whole series.

I got Homicide on Barnes and Noble.com last Christmas for $60.

I had never heard the term "Cyber Monday" until this year. Guess being out of the country for the last three puts one out of the loop.

That said, I bought three gift magazine subscriptions for the niece and nephews. No huge discount, but I got a ton of Skymiles.

Am also contemplating a new backpack for myself but haven't decided on which one, so I'll probably waffle on it.

 

This is getting friggin' ridiculous. What's next, As Seen on TV Tuesday?
