For 63 years and generations of Chicago fans, Old Style Beer has mirrored the experience, a tradition as much as the losing at Wrigley and the weeds on the outfield wall.

Judging by the reaction to this news, on social channels and throughout the two inquiries received, fans want to have a shitty beer that makes them feel special. They've made clear, that while slightly better taste and marketing may win an official deal, Old Style has something more priceless: lower prices.

I've said it before: You have to be careful what you do within 2 blocks of Wrigley Field. Anything, no matter how awful, such as serving shitty beer, becomes a tradition overnight if you aren't careful and then you can never get rid of it without a fuss.
