Tribune owns the team and the stadium, but is selling them separately.

Isn't there a fear that Cuban would just turn into another Steinbrenner?

And the Yankees have won how many World Series with George the Third?

While I don't approve of Steinbrenner's choice to protect his financial advantage over most of the teams in baseball, I don't see how you can argue that he has been bad for the game.

Yes, but William Wrigley died about 70 years ago.

The Cubs were a model franchise until that date. They were a laughingstock under Phil & Bill Wrigley, and then a mediocre-to-bad team under the Tribune's ownership (which has included about 1 good year for every 2-3 rotten ones ... under Phil & Bill Wrigley, it was more like 1 good year for every 50 rotten ones ... and that 1 good year is still a nightmare for most Cub fans).

I have never known anyone who has played for the Mavericks say that Cuban hasn't done anything but run a first-class operation. He might be a fan at heart, but he backs his product and isn't afraid to spend money. He'll do whatever it takes to give his team an advantage.

I'm sorry, but I'm glad he's not getting involved with the Pirates.

If they aren't for sale, how are the Oggie Doggies blocking him?

They are blocking him by not selling the team.
