Meth scare at St. Paul middle school

A 14-year-old girl may have brought the drug to Hazel Park Middle School Academy and shared it with the others. One girl went to the school nurse, and seven students were taken to hospitals.

    Last update: October 02, 2007 – 9:51 PM

Seven students from Hazel Park Middle School Academy in St. Paul were taken to hospitals Tuesday after ingesting crystal methamphetamine.

Principal Coleman McDonough said that about 12:15 p.m., during a school lunch period, one girl went to the school nurse because she wasn't feeling well and was anxious and scared.

The girl confided that the group of students, including six girls and one boy, had found a substance and "ingested" it, officials said.

All of the students were taken to hospitals. McDonough said the students apparently took small amounts.

Back in my day, we thought it was dangerous to bring cinnamon-flavored toothpicks to school. Kids these days.

I used to feel the same way after eating the fish sticks and tartar sauce at my school's cafeteria. Moral of the story: brown bag your lunch, kids.

Doc wasn't picking on St. Paul, mom... It was a coded cry for help for someone else.

K, Slap. I'll take it under advisement.

Doc, you're off the hook. Grounding rescinded. ;)

Funny, you can't even bring cupcakes and cake to school anymore, but they can't teach kids to not ingest "substances"?

Damn, I remember that stuff. They were outlawed in our school. Very dangerous stuff!

The guy who was favored to be Mr basketball in kentuckyjust got busted with having crack in his shoe at school. Said he was "delivering" it to someone. Dumbass. Goodbye scholarship to Indiana.

Should have have just said it was personal use, he probably would have gotte in a lot less trouble
