    Let's not revise history too much. Kerry was 118,000 votes in Ohio away from the presidency, and if black people had been allowed to vote there, he would have won.

    Because he was obviously up against the Republican equivalent of LBJ in 1964 ..... John Kerry snatched defeat from the jaws of victory

    GOP operatives have done their level best in a number of states to disenfranchise Dem-inclined minorities.

    They may call it politics.

    I'd call it something else.

    So you don't find it strange that exit polls in Ohio showed a 4.2-point Kerry victory (a 7% descrepancy)? You dont find it strange that certain voting precincts in Cleveland had 7% turnout and others in rural Ohio had 98% turnout?

    I do continue to find it depressing that the Ohio-based Diebold is headed by a guy
    who publicly declaimed that the re-election of Fredo was a national imperative.
