Early in his career, Brent won an Associated Press award in 2009 for his editorial work, and later won an honorable mention Associated Press Sports Editor award for his work at the Colorado Springs Gazette.

Brent has covered the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies, Colorado Rapids, the L.A.
