Better yet, AP gives us 371 words on the inductions. No byline.

Looking at the original advisory, "access restrictions" suggests that the HHOF might have tried pulling the "we own the images , words, and rights to everything you do" bullshit and CP told them where to put it.

"We will not be using handout photos of the event."

It certainly does suggest that. Good for CP, and hopefully someone in the Toronto and/or national media will write about this.

On another HHOF note, congratulations to former Toronto Sun sports editor Scott Morrison, now working for Rogers Sportsnet, and Calgary Flames broadcaster Peter Maher for being inducted.

Technically they're not "inducted" like players or builders, but they are honoured inside the Hall. Morrison received the Elmer Ferguson Award, named after the legendary Montreal writer who covered the NHL from Day 1 of its existence (literally) until his death 55 years later.

Maher received the Foster Hewitt Award, named after the man who pretty much invented the craft of hockey broadcasting and, through his nationwide audience, was largely responsible for the sport becoming the Canadian institution it is today.

Clearly, this means hockey sucks so much even Canadians don't want to cover it. :D :D :D
