Actually they might not be so dumb this time. I've read some fascinating stuff about how cougars have begun migrating eastward for several years now, they're confirmed to be back in parts of Missouri, there've been several recent alleged sightings in Illinois, and the Haute is directly in the path of the route those sightings are going.
