Cover high school football in McHenry County, Illinois and surrounding areas

    The Northwest Herald is looking for freelance reporters to cover high school football games throughout the McHenry County area Friday nights this fall.

    The reporter will compile statistics while watching the game and providing live updates to our readers via social media.

    Soon after the game, the reporter will file a unique story along with a summary box and box score after conducting post-game interviews. Contact sports editor Jon Styf at jstyf@shawmedia.com with interest.

    I was about to chortle ... until I saw Jon Styf.

    That cat cut his teeth deep in the hearta' and is serious about preps. I don't rate Illinois football, but I applaud his effort.
