    Compared to where? Costs more than a college town or a small town in the Midwest, for sure, but far less than any major city.

    You're not going to buy an oceanfront home, but there's plenty of affordable housing off-island. Hell, you can buy a brand-new three-bedroom house off-island for around $150K these days.
