I'm not sure why the date says Jan. 18, but the OP in that thread linked to the same site and job listing as this lists.

Maybe they're reposting it or something. This one did sound pretty familiar from a few weeks ago.

Yet, if you pointed this error out during an interview, your chances for getting the job would be nixed.

I applied a few weeks ago, with years of experience at big papers.
Never heard a word. Since it's Gannett, I really don't care.

Damn. Another job that wants experience. You need a job for experience, but you need experience to find a job. Sucks.

You don't need experience to find a job. You need experience to work at a paper like USA Today.

Did you apply for the jobs in Williston, because if you haven't, then I don't want to hear any complaining about papers wanting experience.

    What is Williston

A town in North Dakota. The job there received very little interest. Stitch either has connections to the paper or just worked in the state (I can't recall which).

Worked in the state. Instead of people with no experience complaining about papers that require experience, they should apply for entr-level jobs. There are too many who say they will do anything or work anywhere to be a sports writer, but their actions do not back up their talk.

Forget about Williston, but understand this. USA Today won't hire recent grads who are clueless.
