    Here are job descriptions for each position:

    Copy/news editors – Sports: Fast-paced, deadline-intensive position that requires expert knowledge of sports and agility under pressure. The candidate will be working with a highly motivated staff that knows every story can be enhanced by the editing of a stellar copy/news desk.Minimum requirements: Possess strong news judgment and ability to copy-edit and lay out pages for all sections of the paper. Guarantee factual, grammatical and mathematical accuracy as well as maintenance of tone, viewpoint and style. Write compelling headlines, captions and readouts for print and SEO-ready display for digital that inform and engage the reader. Candidates will work closely with the design desk, assigning editors, graphics, photo and Philly.com. This position also will be responsible for timely updates for online and mobile devices, and proficiency in social media and audience engagement. The candidate will be joining a vibrant, multimedia newsroom at a news organization that is the major source of news for Philadelphia, South Jersey and the Pennsylvania suburbs. Room for growth.

    1 – Page designer – Sports: Create engaging feature sports section fronts, produce infographics and illustrations, and contribute to special sections and projects for print and online. Fast-paced, deadline-intensive. Requires strong knowledge of sports and agility under pressure. Minimum requirements: Possess strong news judgment, command of typographic and design principles, and a deep understanding of emerging technologies that best display our work online. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite applications (primarily InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and Hermes or similar newspaper publishing program. Experience in web design and interactive tools a plus. Candidates will work closely with reporters, assigning editors, graphics, photo and Philly.com. This position also will be responsible for timely updates for online and mobile devices, and proficiency in social media. The candidate will be joining a vibrant, multimedia newsroom at a news organization that is the major source of news for Philadelphia, South Jersey and the Pennsylvania suburbs. Room for growth.
