Inside sources tell me their is an opening at the Idaho Statesman in Boise for a copy editor. There sure have been a lot of openings in Boise lately. Also, be careful what you post. At least one person was denied a job there because of comments on this board.

Wow. he registers, post and self nukes all in a matter of minutes.

I'll say this though, I like the Idaho Statesman and it seems to be making good changes. Not sure what the newsroom environment is like, but I've never had a problem with any one I've dealt with there.

This job just came open last night. I am impressed with their quickness, though this is their fourth opening in the last year - and no, I am not counting the two people they added to the department.
And Moddy-ho, sure some of them are nice to work with, but the really cool ones left a while ago.

I've heard good things about that place. A buddy of mine got a news G.A. job there a year ago and another friend is about to get a photographer's job there. They say morale and things improved there after the big G sold the paper and have gotten even better now that the McClatchy masters are about to take over.

I've worked with two of their guys and they are among he better guys I've ever been around. Maybe not super-personality guys, but honest and just good people.

Murphy is pretty cool and so is Jezierny, but there are a few other guys that are lacking and I'll just take a no comment on the SE.

Anybody know what ever happened with SE's run-in with the law a few months back?

He basically got a slap on the wrist. No media in the area - except for the Boise Weekly, which is an entertainment mag - reported it. He took a short leave of absence and that was it.
He has now had three run-ins with the law in the last year: 1. Disorderly conduct; 2. Domestic; 3. DUI.
