    Description:

The Grand Forks Herald is seeking a talented sports copy editor who can design attention-grabbing pages.

If you have a passion for sports, and want to be immersed with a team dedicated to covering Division I and prep teams, there’s a spot immediately available with our Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper.

You’re a great fit for our team if you can edit local and wire copy using strong news judgment, select photos and graphics to present eye-catching design, write engaging headlines and manage to do it on deadline.

And you’ll get a chance to write on occasion to demonstrate you can do it all.

For good measure, you’ll work a shift on the news side just to round out your talents and help our group of talented copy editors grow.

Grand Forks is home to the University of North Dakota, known for its winning teams and hockey culture, and prep teams on both sides of the Red River. Our community offers a vibrant, dynamic lifestyle and unlimited opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, sports, nightlife, recreation and the arts.

The Herald is family-owned and offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits package with health, dental and vision insurance, 401K and paid time off.

Candidates should have a college degree in communication, graphic design or a related program. Experience as a copy editor and/or designer at a daily news publication is preferred, but we would consider a recent college graduate with internship experience.

Send resume, cover letter and samples by Sept. 23 of work to: Steve Wagner, Grand Forks Herald, Box 6008, Grand Forks ND 58206-6008 or by email to swagner@gfherald.com.

This would be a pretty sweet gig if it pays for the experience they're asking for. Best college hockey coverage in the nation.

  3. Should be at least $35K. It's also a union shop.

And, with it's young population, and nightlife options, it's America's 24th most exciting small city:

Great dining options, too. Or so I've read in the past.

However, Frenchy of Frenchy's grinders fame just passed away.
