Looking for some sports-minded applicants. Message me with questions.

    Description:

The Bulletin, a daily newspaper serving Central Oregon, seeks a copy editor / page designer with professional daily newspaper experience who will play a primary role in the daily production of A1 and other news sections as part of a universal desk. The successful candidate will possess the skills to assemble a visually appealing and smart-reading section on deadline and have strong editing skills and a grasp of Associated Press style. We seek a person who can design and edit the copy for Page 1.

Other requirements include pagination skills, along with the ability to write story-selling headlines, challenge and improve both wire and local copy, and make sound news decisions. Digital savvy is important.

Experience with newspaper page design software is required. Experience with NewsCycle / DTI, InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator is preferred. Candidates must be willing to work nights and weekends. A bachelor's degree is required.

We are an independent, family-owned newspaper located in Bend, a vibrant Central Oregon city surrounded by snow-capped mountains and boundless outdoor recreation opportunities. The Bulletin is a drug-free workplace and an equal opportunity employer.

To apply, send a cover letter, resume and page design examples to Tim Doran, news editor at tdoran@bendbulletin.com
