    PAGE DESIGNER/COPY EDITOR - Bristol Herald Courier and Community Newspapers of Southwest VA has openings for page designer/copy editors on a regional desk located in Bristol, VA., handling Virginia daily and weekly newspapers, websites and other digital platforms including Bristol Herald Courier, Washington County News, Wytheville Enterprise, Floyd Press, Smyth County News and Messenger, Richlands News Press, and Bland County Messenger. The job involves designing pages for all sections of newspapers, helping proof all pages of the newspapers and websites and writing headlines, in addition to working carefully with local and wire copy. Quark or InDesign experience essential. One to two years daily experience preferred, but entry-level will be considered. You must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays. The Copy Desk is located at Bristol Herald Courier, a morning daily, located in Bristol, VA /TN, “the Birth Place of Country Music” and the home of NASCAR’s Bristol Motor Speedway. We have a reputation for providing journalists with the experience they need to move on to a major daily.
