I'm surprised his uniform shirt wasn't a lovely shade of pink.

    He had already done that.

Not to defend this douchebag, but he had no way of knowing Moats was telling the truth. We've got a photog whose mother-in-law must have died five times just to get a day off, but still...no reason to act like that under any circumstances. Some sensitivity from the cop would have been nice.

Hey, he's got his 15 minutes and a whole lot of bad karma.

Moats went to my sister's high school. The anus of a cop might not be used to seeing black people in that part of Plano.

The tried that. But cabs won't pick them up!

"Joking" aside, that is sickening. I had the most disgusted feeling I have felt in so long watching that video and knowing what happened.

That was pretty awful. Even when Moats was cooperating the cop wouldn't shut the fuck up. It's like he wanted to hear himself talk.

Then he told them to shut his mouth. How disrespectful. I hate that shit. I was treated like that by a cop once. He was a huge dbag. He got me for an MIP, then had the audacity to say in the car "we can do this cause school is out of session and the student newspaper won't publish anyone's story."

Umm, sir, I work for the newspaper.

He didn't talk the rest of the way to the station. That ass clown.

I too have been bullied around by power-hungry police officers, so I sympathize with Moats on a much smaller level. Although the circumstances are much more tragic in this case.

To be blunt, that is completely fucked up. I'm just glad Moats is an NFL player, so this douchebag cop can be tarred and feathered by an enraged public. And to continue lecturing Moats the way he did? Fuck him.

And you can be damn sure that race was a factor. That's obvious.

I will give Moats mad props. He handled that way better than I would have. Eventually he kept saying "yes sir yes sir" to get him to hurry the fuck up and the cop wouldn't stop lecturing him.

I'm so mad I want to punch someone.

not true. a hospital nurse, a hospital security person and finally a plano cop all said the mother-in-law was dying and officer douche still played the ass.

and i'm not so sure race really played a part here. i think this cop would've been just as big an asshole had moats been white.

I watched the video, and I thought that at some point Moats should have just tossed his keys and his license on the cop's car hood and said: "I've got to get inside. Think about it. She's dying. I gotta go. Do whatever you want later."

And then just bolt for the hospital door.

I actually thought Moats handled it too well. Once you get inside that hospital door, you're on better ground. Mostly because the cops then realize that they're in a hospital, and then they realize they might want to act like humans again.

"To Protect And Serve," should be wiped off police cars everywhere. This concept went out the door a hell of a long time ago.

All this shit occurred over a red-light violation while a man, who paused at said red light to see if there was traffic, was on the way to the hospital to see his mother before she died? Gimme a fucking break. There once was a time in this country when a cop would escort someone to the hospital in this type of situation.

Christ, a few years ago, I had an area coach come into my office and ask me if I could help him. His story was that during his coaching season, he was not allowed to drink booze. The day after his long season ended, he went out on the town. At the end of the night, he'd determined that he'd had too much to drink, so he was going to walk home. While walking, a cop stopped him and told him he was walking kind of crooked. Coach says that he had a couple too many, thought it best that he not drive home, so he thought he was making the proper decision by walking home.

Fucking cop busts him for public intox.

Not too long after this, my roommate and I were out on the town, driving in his car. The blue and red lights start flashing behind us. The reason we were pulled over? The cop said his license plate cover was getting dirty and it was getting hard to read his license plate. Seriously, this is a problem?

Rapists, murderers and drug dealers operate with freedom in this country because the law is too fucking stupid and lazy to catch up with them. But fuck man, if you've got a taillight out, or if you run a red light while trying to give your mom a few words before she dies, we can definitely bust your ass then.

To Protect And Serve? Fuuuuuck you. How about to harrass and ticket so the county and city can make money.
