Coolest High School sitcom character ever - guys division

I never thought of The White Shadow as a sitcom. It was a one-hour show, which is usually enough to knock it out of that realm anyway, and there was some pretty heavy drama involved.

However, I would nominate it for the "TV shows canceled too early" thread.

Ok so I stretched it a bit
but Tim Riggins is so cool
    that he's a category buster.

Sabonis was in the White Shadow?

One of the best first episodes of any show I've watched.

Maybe Poindexter's criteria needs to be adjusted.

Nope, I am keeping with sitcoms.

With hourlong dramas, you can allow more expansion of characters.

This one is for sitcoms only, so white shadow and FNL characters are out.

Ok then I'm going with Richie's Cunningham's brother.

Thorpe slept with Coolidge's girlfriend and gave her an STD. And Coolidge still forgave him. So it can't be Coolidge, getting punked like that and all.

And I know it was a drama, but the episodes sort of watch like comedy now. The ghetto seems kind of fun!

I'd personally go with Hayward. But no arguments with anyone who even pulls Curtis Jackson out of a hat (pun intended).

I didn't cry when Old Yeller got shot, but I cried when CJ did.

CJ was an extremely likable character and him getting shot and killed was one of the first TV moments that kicked me in the ass. I was 9 or 10. Sad wrenching moment.

Actually, my favorite character on the White Shadow was the guy who played the team manager in the first two seasons. He was in every episode. I don't think he ever had a line.
