Sadly, her husband drowned. But thanks to a nearby construction crew, the woman was saved.

I nearly posted this. The story is incredible.

The guy didn't even want to give reporters his name afterwards. He finally did, acted like it was no big deal and then went back to work.

    You gotta love construction workers.

I'll also never forget that while the firefighters were the first ones to rush into the WTC, the construction workers quickly followed when they realized they were needed.

Just walked off their jobs, headed to the site & got working.

Nope. Picture was cropped at the top too close. The image captures neither the chain nor the majestic rush of the falls.

Or the blue sky. Or the beautiful gardens in Mrs. Jones's front yard down the street.

Who cares? It's still a great picture.

Oops. I do know some people who would pick that picture apart, though.

    My bad.

Ryan's well on his way to insufferable criticdom. All I had to do was draw him offsides. ;D

I once got called for clipping and a late hit on consecutive plays. Not my finest moment, for sure.

This was amazing as hell to watch. The construction guys were working on the Principal Financial pedestrian bridge right near Wells Fargo Arena.

Stick another feather in the cap for my fellow Iowans (gay marriages, Obama, and humility). The TV stations and the Register had to provoke these guys to talk about what they did and their names. They weren't crazy about it, but did it, as long as they got back to work.

It still stuns me on how many people continue to get on a boat on the Des Moines River thru downtown.
