Should I download Microsoft's XP Service Pack 3 (now that its officially available) or should I wait a couple of months for them to get the bugs out?

    yes

  3. The service pack is a collection of bug fixes. Granted it is Microsoft, but you shouldn't have to fix the fixes. Correction: It isn't just bug fixes; bug fixes and a few feature enhancements.

Not that all the bugs are ever completely fixed.

    Should I download SP3 if I haven't downloaded SP2 yet?

UPDATE: It's entirely possible that you shouldn't download SP3, at all. Problems include spontaneous reboots (not just the Windows Update kind) and outright system crashes, according to Information Week.

Hank: SP2 is a must. SP3, perhaps not so much.
