OK, suddenly all the pictures I see on the Internet are slightly fuzzy, which takes a lot of the fun out of some of my (ahem) favorite sites. Everything looks like the just barely out of focus stuff one of our photo stringers used to turn in.

I have Windows XM and I'm using MSN Explorer.

I'm not drunk and my contacts are clean, so it ain't my fault.

Anybody know what might be wrong?

Has the resolution setting on your monitor been changed recently?

Not deliberately. I'm working on a laptop.

Is everything else on the monitor in focus? If not, your monitor may be dying.

Check this box under control panel: Display, Settings. Make sure it's set high. Also, if you're on a laptop, could your batteries be going south?

I seem to be good there. Pics I have stored on the hard drive are still sharp.

If everything's okay hardware-wise with your laptop, then my best guess is it's just the poor quality of the pics on the 'Net.

Try downloading Mozilla Firefox, which might serve you better anyway, and see if it's still happening.

Going to those, ahem, sites is an open invitation to spyware and malware to infest your computer regardless of which browser you use.

The thought had crossed my mind.
