    Companies: Sun Country Amateur Golf Association and Rio Grande Golf Course Superintendent’s Association

    The primary role of the Communications Director will be to coordinate communication efforts for the two associations; including communications with their memberships, media, sponsors, the United States Golf Association, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and association partners.

    Responsibilities:

    •Create and Distribute RGGCSA annual directory
    •Administer the RGGCSA Chapter Newsletter
    •Manage RGGCSA and SCAGA Web presence
    •Serve as primary liaison with local media outlets for golf news and championship results
    •Manage sponsor relations programs for RGGCSA and SCAGA
    •Assist in Course Rating Process for SCAGA
    •Assist at all SCAGA Championships
    •Attend and coordinate all RGGCSA Board Meetings
    •Coordinate promotional program for RGGCSA Membership
    •Various tasks and duties assigned by the SCAGA and RGGCSA
    •Accept and process RGGCSA membership applications
    •Account for RGGCSA funds and budget

    Education/or Experience (Suggested):

    •Bachelor’s Degree from a four year university and 1‐4 years experience in the golf, hospitality or communications industries.
    •Experience with golf associations, or work as a golf course superintendent a plus.
    •Bilingual speaking a plus (English and Spanish)

    Position Requirements:

    •Applicants MUST have an above average competence in Microsoft Office applications including (Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access)
    •Applicants must be able to decipher and administer web applications similar to Microsoft Word
    •Must be able to communicate effectively over the phone
    •Strong Communication and Organizational skills; must have an outgoing personality who enjoys dealing with public; professional disposition and strong managerial skills; ability to become knowledgeable of all GHIN Software and be able to professionally demonstrate same.
    •Ability to learn and understand changing online and software applications
    •Required to travel for SCAGA Championships, Course Rating duties as well as visits to member facilities.
    •Applicants MUST have extensive knowledge of the golf industry and have a passion for the game

    Salary and Benefits:

    -Expectant base Salary of $33,000‐$40,000 commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications
    -Additional Bonus Plan of $3,000 quarterly performance based compensation plan based on goals set down from SCAGA and RGGCSA Boards
    -Cell Phone allowance, Co‐op Medical Insurance Coverage, Vehicle Use Reimbursement, and Simple IRA Retirement Plan.
