    Having cable in the 80s was great ... if you were a fan of a National League team. Between WOR, TBS and WGN you could see your NL team as much as 48 times a year. Of course, if you liked the Braves, Cubs or Mets, you hardly missed a game.

    AL team fans had to wait for Saturday afternoon or Monday night, or fire up the AM radio at night.

    That's what I was warned about when I first got cable: "Yeah, you get to see your team 18 more times than usual. Unfortuately, you've gotta watch them play the Braves."
