Good NY Times floating around that says Trump is mostly likely not a billionaire. He's still a wealthy trust fund kid who got rich because his dad made the right bets.

Trump says he's rich, so he's rich. The article also detailed his aggressive courtship of Forbes and how he's taken advantage of their lack of staff to run down what people say their worth.

Whatever he's got, it's a pretty good bet he swindled/grifted people out of a hefty chunk of it.

 

I'd say that going from being worth "minus $900 million" to anywhere in the black is a pretty nice accomplishment.

And, Manhattan real estate has done pretty damn well since 2005, especially the kind of high end properties that Donald invests in and develops, so a 10-year-old article is probably pretty out of date.

Come on. I get that you don't like Trump -- there are any number of reasons to not like him -- but you should try and back up a statement like this with some evidence. Maybe just a little evidence.

Other than charging a premium for his "brand" how has he ever "swindled" money out of people?

Has anyone ever accused him of unscrupulous dealings?

Even his dealings with companies like Macy's and NBC are longstanding, and not what you would expect if he was a swindler or grifter.
