We played pool ball in high school. Basketball net on the edge of an above ground pool. Low enough for everyone to dunk on.

Awesome times.

 

pocket + ball = pocketball. We all know how to play that. Advantage left, 40-love.

 

In junior high, we had a P.E. department that could be creative. One semester, we played what they called volley tennis: 5-6 people a side, a max of three hits per side and you had to hit it on one bounce. We also had something called "speed-a-way" or "speedball" which was kind of like modified rugby, but you could dropkick the ball at any time toward what were supposed to be soccer goals.

Oh yeah, and in elementary school, we would play baseball with a tennis ball and a tennis racket for a bat. We loved it because we could hit it a long way.

How do you play it?

 

Steve Nash mentioned playing that in his Playboy interview. Said it was quite difficult.

In our high school gym class, we combined racquetball and dodgeball. Basically, playing dodgeball with rackets and racquetballs. I took a ricochet off the bleachers into the back of my head, and vividly remember sailing one shot a foot over a guy's head, but dead center. Would've caught him right between the eyes if it was lower. It's a miracle we didn't kill anybody.

 

Kill The Man With The Ball was awesome. Played inside a basketball gym, you'd set two indoor soccer goals on each baseline. Nobody but the goalkeeper could be in the lane. You could run, dribble, do whatever with the ball until you were tagged, hit, tackled, beaten, etc. Then you could take only three steps before having to get rid of the ball.

Points varies depending how far you shot when you scored. two pts for regular basket, three for a 3-pointer, four for making a basket while behind the out-of-bounds lines (no out of bounds in this game, though) and five points for beyond midcourt. Soccer goals were one less point from where ever you scored.

Never failed in this great game ... a fight broke out every time.

 

grab + ass = grab ass. An all-time fav.

 

None of these surprise me in that they come from boots.
