It's Colorado State. The running thread isn't good enough and stifles self-promotion.

    Didn't see this one, thanks.

Not sure what you're talking about, Buck. And now Slappy is just spewing more nonsense.

On another CSU note I saw Natalie Meisler, the longtime Denver Post beat writer, took the recent buyout. Will the Post continue to cover CSU with another beat writer?

And I just read McElwain's bio in Wikipedia. The entry said he is making 1.5 million ayear. Can that possibly be true? Are Mountain West coaches other than Chris Peterson pulling down that kind of cash?

Seems so. Crazy to pay a guy three times what he was making at his last job. Fairchild made $700K last year, according to USA Today's coaches' salary guide. You can sort by conference. Given that Boise State and San Diego State are Big East-bound and TCU is Big 12-bound, Dave Christianson was the big earner in the last fiscal year at a Mountain West school. He made $843K with a possible maximum bonus of $260K.

If you go back to 2010, USA Today has assistant coaches' salaries. It seems McElwain made less than $500K even with maximum bonuses in the 2010 fiscal year. Unless he got a huge raise, Colorado State would seem mildly crazy to triple his salary and give him a head-coaching gig. But he might have been reluctant to leave.
