Great old photos from Life Magazine of Ruth's last appearance at Yankee Stadium. The color photo with him wrapped in a jacket .. wow... You can see how bad how he looks the ashy gray color of his face. The fragility.

But, he won't look at the picture first.

 

LongTimeListener believes these photos say more about the photographer than about the Babe.

 

Um, actually I did look at the picture. Very interesting to look at.

And even though he died relatively young, he did alright for himself financially in his life, even if he did have to pay taxes. After all, he had a better year than President Hoover did in 1930.

 

At least Babe became even more successful because he got to know the vendors.


The hot dog ones, that is.

 

Yeah, these days every professional athlete has a better year than the president.
