  5. The area around the Mississippi and Ohio rivers resembled the Nile River delta. At least that's one theory.

    Southern Illinois is unlike the rest of the state, for better or worse.

    I don't know why, but this paper always appealed to me when I was in college. I've heard nothing but praise for it, and the stuff I've read has always been top-notch.

    i've also heard the editor is one cool lady. was friends with a guy who worked with her at another stop.

    The editor is a guy.
    But I heard the previous editor (a female) was a total bitch who would scream at staff members in front of the entire newsroom.
