The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal is looking for an experienced college athletics recruiting writer and online editor to lead our new partnership with 24/7 sports. The applicant must have a strong journalism background as well as experience covering Division I college athletics with an emphasis on recruiting of the four major sports -- football, men's and women's basketball and baseball. The applicant must be fluent in all uses of social media as well as comfortable both behind and in front of a video camera. The person hired for this job will also be responsible for providing content for and maintaining the Avalanche-Journal's Texas Tech sports website, www.redraiders.com, and the subsequent recruiting website, WreckEm 24/7. With college football season starting soon, we are looking to move very quickly on this hire. If you are interested, send your resume and examples of your work to hr@lubbockonline.com.
