Yeah, LSSU has no interest in going west. As usual, they are snobs and don't want to be associated with their U.P. brethren. It's a pipe dream for us Wildcat fans to be able to have two big rivalries...but alas...those dipsticks by the locks won't have any of it.

It's also three further hours east of Marquette, which is already a hike from Minnesota. What can I say, the U.P.'s big. Whereas, the Sault to Big Rapids (Ferris) is probably a 3 1/2-4 hour trip. Further, they can hit an upstate NY school or something like that by cutting through Canada. Not as much of a slam dunk as one might think.

Be interesting to see who the new NCHA commissioner is. Would guess there would be a pretty small pool of candidates.

So much for my saying it wouldn't happen. Have fun making that flight to Orono.

ND will have all its home games televised by NBC/VERSUS starting in 2013-14.

They wanted to stay. TV deal was the deal breaker for NCHC.

I think it is interesting that NBC is hitching its wagon for its new sports network to ND in sports beyond football. Other than football, I don't think ND has much of a market following in its other major sports.

Does NBC really think that viewers are going to watch ND-USC football on NBC and then get excited to tune in the following friday to watch ND-BU hockey? Unless the goal is to become the "hockey" network and claim "we have the NHL and the best college hockey league" but that also seems like an awfully small demographic to target.

Versus is still an NHL broadcast partner so mixing in a little college hockey makes some sense as well.
