Just now watching the replay on ESPN. The jersey thing is fucking priceless.

 

True. When I first looked, the camera shots were from so far away, I didn't notice anything askew, even knowing they were using the substitute jerseys. Great stuff.

 

A high school team I used to cover has the nickname Tarpons. Before a playoff game at their stadium at the edge of the world, I visited with their coach. His players seemed more fired up than usual, and finally, reluctantly, he explained.

Some of his boosters drove to the town of the opposing team, bought a huge box of feminine products and mailed them to the athletic department. The address began: South Cameron Tampons ...

They won. Easily.
