    Virginia Tech has a guy on staff who is a master of motivational bullshit. My guess is those jersies are in the trunk.

    Some years ago, VT won at Virginia. One of the younger defensive linemen goes off afterward about the "disrespect" Virginia showed the VT defensive line. "Fired us up," he said.

    Where did they show this disrespect?

    "It was in all the papers."

    A senior sitting nearby, who had been through a few of these motivational tricks, started laughing. "These young guys will believe anything."

    Turns out the staffer had typed up a bunch of "disrespectful" quotes and distributed them. No attribution. Nothing.

    Asked about it, the staffer said, "I have no comment on any comments."

    I'm quoting myself here to show that I totally wussed out and didn't put any money on that "easy money" line.

    At the moment, VT 27, GT 3. This one isn't even close.

    I didn't know that the two oldest on-campus I-A stadiums were Bobby Dodd at Georgia Tech and the stadium at Mississippi State.

    If this was a fight they'd stop it. This a bigger ass-kicking than the Pats-Redskins game and it's only 27-3.

    And whoever thought it was a good idea to write the names on the back of the borrowed jerseys with a sharpie should be fired immediately.
