Poor Buffalo. Baylor pounds in the opening drive for a 7-0 lead.

Buffalo's QB, who had 5 TDs against Army last week, threw a pretty pass to a receiver who shredded his guy -- would've been in-stride into the end zone. But the receiver dropped it. Buffalo punt goes to the 9.

Two plays later Petty hits freshman KD Cannon for a 90-yard TD, 14-0.

Baylor's playing without its top 4 receivers.

Nebraska at Fresno is the kind of game that makes CFB worth watching. Quirky matchup, just the second time they've played. Nebraska 42-29 in '11.

Just found this cool comparative website:

Conversely, John Cooper was 111-43-4 with 3 Big Ten titles at Ohio State. Going 2-10-1 against Michigan got him fired.

I laid the 35 (won) but shied away from the 70. Nervous that Baylor would go up 56-0 and stop scoring to spare Buffalo's feelings.

So about that Hokie win in Columbus ...

    Pirates 14-0.

Still a long way to go but still.

And per usual Hokie fashion after a big win, now losing to East Carolina at home, 14-0, 5 minutes in.....

EDIT: Xan beat me by a nose.

Hokies made their nut last week with interceptions. ECU's receivers are so aggressive going after the ball it's going to have to be a pretty bad pass to get a pick, and Carden doesn't throw a whole lot of those. VT's offensive line can't handle the front four from ECU either.

Meanwhile, Maryland is fitting right in with the Big Ten, down big to West Virginia and Vandy is reminding the world why James Franklin got out when he did.
