Now 27-3. This has all the makings of 54-10.

Here's something I did not realize until it was mentioned on the TCU broadcast ...

Because the Big 12 has no conference title game, the teams that are playing today played 12 games in 15 weeks, thus they had THREE bye weeks.

The teams who are playing in conference title games today will have played 13 games in 15 weeks.

That's a built-in advantage for the Big 12, and one that needs to be addressed. Either make them play 13 regular-season games, or finish their season by Thanksgiving weekend.

41-3. They might be good enough now.

We can add Louisiana Tech to the Tech'mo Bowl. LT has forced 4 turnovers today -- 40 for the season.

    Semifinals:

    Louisiana Tech v. Georgia Tech

    Texas Tech v. Virginia Tech

A little D2 interjection. Todd Hoffner, the Minnesota State Mankato coach wrongly accused of producing child porn two years ago, will have his undefeated team in the national semifinals once they finish off today's rout. A great story for him, especially since even after he got his job back after that nightmare, the team originally refused to play for him out of loyalty to the departing interim coach.

I gave Iowa State a TD it didn't deserve.
    55-3.

And I agree......Big 12 needs a championship game. One less bye week. One more game.

    SMU! SMU! SMU!

All 128 FBS teams will finish with at least one win after the Mustangs beat UConn 27-20.

    My God.

How far has UConn football fallen?

    Sadly ISU isn't even a 3-win team.

As Kansas showed, it's the 3-win teams that give them problems.

Still I can't argue with them being deserving of being in the top four. Problem is are they more deserving than the teams behind them...

It's a sad day when any program should miss the days of Randy Edsall.

Makes you appreciate the programs (Boise, now UCF) that maintain and thrive.

It's still rather amusing that South Florida managed to be No. 2 in the nation not so long ago.

Here were the first rankings ever in the BCS series in '07. Did Kentucky have Couch then?

    1. Ohio State
    2. USF
    3. Boston College
    4. LSU
    5. Oklahoma
    6. South Carolina
    7. Kentucky
    8. Arizona State
    9. West Virginia
    10. Oregon
    11. Virginia Tech
    12. California
    13. Kansas
    14. USC
    15. Florida
    16. Missouri
    17. Auburn
    18. Hawaii
    19. Virginia
    20. Georgia

Couch had been gone for a decade by then. That was Andre Woodson and the team that beat LSU in overtime.
