The Axe brings its own drama this year. UW Coach Gary Andersen says it's going to be inside the stadium until the field is cleared, and then the winning team can come back out with its fans. Last year Wisconsin took the Axe to the goalpost to pretend to chop it down, and Minnesota players were waiting there and it was almost a brawl.

Weird situation in the West Division of the Mountain West. Fresno hosts Hawaii in what has been known among some fans as the Screwdriver Game ever since June Jones claimed to have a screwdriver thrown at him in Bulldog Stadium a few years back.

If Fresno wins, it goes to the MWC championship at 6-6 (5-3 MWC). If Hawaii wins, San Diego State loses and Nevada loses, Hawaii goes to the MWC title game at 5-8 (4-4). Jimmy Durkin of the San Jose Mercury News breaks it down here.

Some anonymous dickhead from Mississippi has threatened to go all Harvey Updyke on The Grove.

That's good material for the bulletin board.

The "trees in the Grove" situation is unfortunate and hard to figure out, at first glance.
No telling who wrote that note and it'd be meaningless to speculate or point fingers.
Let's hope the people responsible are brought to light and made to pay.

Now, I'm guess this A&M v LSU game is meaningless, too, because it involves purportedly inferior squads.
    Sheesh, I say.
Both are loaded with good athletes, both recruit well, and both would be tough to beat on their phone fields or on the road.
To say that beating either is not a "quality win" is hogwash.
There is just a heck of a lot of parity in college football this season and these days.
But don't try and tell me either of these is not a good team.

Same commentary applies to Texas vs. TCU. A win over the Horns would be a "quality win" and, of course, vice versa.

Texas A&M is not good - on their phone field or not. Their defense is atrocious. Just awful. Miles Garrett is amazing, granted. But that is a BAD unit. And the TAMU offense is average. They're NOT a good team. They might not be a bad team. But they're far from a good team.

Maybe it's me being cynical, but I wouldn't be shocked to learn that the whole thing about the Grove was made up by Ole Miss coaches as an attempt to fire up a listless team that was just jail sexed by Arkansas.

How is LSU not scoring with the size of its offensive line?

No. 31 for Texas A&M just became Leonard Fournette's bitch.
Holy god. That was a Bo vs. Bosworth level dumptrucking.
