Came home from work after midnight, not having seen much of anything football related all day.

Find a Hawaii-Navy game. Hawaii QB heaves a long pass that the receiver grabs despite some good coverage.

    Or did he?

Was that a juggle as the player came down? The ball moved. Did it hit the ground?

Tweet! "The play is under review."

I changed the channel to some lost episode of Bonanza.

90 percent of the discussion during the season is about the team's making the playoffs, not a actual plays on the field. Alabama and Ohio State are already invited, and probably clemson. Saban is a complete turd, and he runs the joint. You can read War and Peace in the time it takes to play a prime time game. There are no iconic announcers for ESPN. If uncle Verne is still doing games, his voice is shot.

don't get me wrong, it is lots better than a summer of major league baseball and little league baseball, but it is overrated.

I saw the exact same thing with Purdue and Northwestern Thursday night.

That’s not just college football. The nfl is insipid with the constant penalty flags, followed by subcommittee meeting followed by replays then a few commercials. That’s just the opening kickoff. Rinse and repeat for 4 hours. Add in the shit tackling the roughing the passer penalty on a gust of wind. And the celebratory dance for gaining 6 yards on 2 and 8.

They played games yesterday at the Carolina Panthers stadium, the Washington Redskins stadium, and the Atlanta Falcons stadium, among other places. Could not be more fucking stale. Oh, and Orlando Florida for Alabama -Louisville. And the has to be a game at Jerryworld this week. Can they make it any more sterile?

Should we put Washington - Auburn at Husky Stadium, Jordan Hare, or the home of the Atlanta Falcons? Which would create the absolute worst atmosphere?

Thank God for Michigan - Notre Dame.

Entertaining or not, I appreciate college football because it’s not baseball, which is just downright awful.

The neutral-site games are dumb. Atmosphere is the distinguishing feature of college football and they are rejecting it on purpose.

But chickenshit programs don't want to go play a real road game. Michigan hasn't won a true road game against a ranked opponent since 2006.

    ABSOLUTELY.
And think of the kids. Being on the road at schools is an amazing experience. Being the road team in Clemson, Blacksburg, Auburn ... is an experience that can’t be replicated at the shitshow FedEx Stadium in Landover, Maryland.

We are all over baseball for taking too long, but college football may be worse. Halftime of Notre Dame/Michigan seemed like forever.

Strong agreement. The night college games are like four hours guaranteed.

And the CBS afternoon game is almost always four hours.

Despite whatever criticisms we have , we can ALL agree that this flawed product is still miles better than seeing Sunday Night Baseball featuring the Yankees and Red Sox.
