I had Washington -21 on my list. It was one of my final cuts, though. I guess I gotta see them play well two weeks in a row before I put money on them.

I am terrible with spreads, but if Navy can score 20 somethiing points on OSU, the Boys of Troy will score 40 something.

I hope it will be a better game, but I think USC walks away with that one.

I kinda feel the same way about USC. Not sure I'll be able to pull the trigger, though. Not even sure why. Just a bad feeling, I guess.

The other reason I like Vandy and the points...

Traditionally, they have been deeper in September in recent years because they have less depth than other SEC schools. As the injuries mount up, they usually fall behind even the weaker programs. Yes, night game, but I doubt LSU will be that fired up for Vandy.

I will say this -- beating the "number" in September is more difficult than 15 years ago because information and video are so easy to attain.

I can sort of see your points, Ex...but LSU is gonna roll Vandy. And I think LSU will be fired up enough to cover 14 points. At home, at night, only 14 points....LSU gonna roll.

The freshman QB in the horseshoe would stop me.

  7. Avoid PSU... Paterno is awful at covering the spread.

If Navy's QB wasn't intimidated by the Shoe, I seriously doubt Barkley will be.

  9. Did Navy have a true freshman at the helm?

Ability and mental make-up are two different things.

And I think Barkley has both. He also has a kick-ass running game to lean on. I'm nto saying he throws for 350 and 4, but I'm not so sure about him being intimidated by the Shoe. Kid seems to have a good make-up.
