Many of those games have been on the road.

No other BCS team matches that non-conference schedule. Nobody.

And don't forget BCS-school killer Fresno State. They gave USC a scare or two this decade.

Smart move my the Longhorns. They get a 2-for-1 against a decent opponent (Wyo has defeated Ole Miss twice and UVa in the past five years) and gets the road game out of the way when McCoy is a senior.

Wyo pays Texas a smaller guarantee and makes a ton of money off a home game (tickets were $55 apiece, I think), then Texas pays Wyo a smaller guarantee in the two games in Austin and also makes more money than paying Texas State or some other nobody a larger guarantee. And all three games probably get on TV.

And since Texas was probably limited to about 1,500 tickets in the lower southwest corner of the War, I'm sure Laramie survived the invasion just fine. Just as it survives the annual invasion of greenies every hunting and fishing season.

As far as the I-AA vs. I-A thing, I believe Idaho has played at Montana within the past decade. Not 100 percent sure on that one.

Was Idaho a full-blown I-A member at that point or were the Vandals still transitioning from I-AA?
