Fraud claims leveled against Kiffin, FAU

Carter, who played for Alabama for three seasons and was a graduate assistant, had accepted a position at FAU as assistant wide receivers coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach. However, he ended up not being hired when two prior misdemeanor charges showed up on a background check conducted after Carter claimed to have been assured by Kiffin that the deal was done and he could begin work.

Carter had been recruiting a junior college prospect from his hometown. The lawsuit mentions Carter's family celebrating New Year's Eve with the prospect.

 

As if life isn't going to be difficult enough for Cal's football and basketball staffs amid a massive budget crisis and new academic restrictions ... the athletic departments are looking for a ruling on whether they can schedule games -- and, more importantly, recruiting visits -- to the eight states that our fine state is boycotting over LGBT laws. It's fine, nobody finds players in Texas anyway.
