If OK State is getting 23.5 vs. Central Michigan, they are in a world of hurt this year.

Wisky and Alabama playing at Jerry World blows. As does A&M and ASU playing at Reliant (I don't give enough of a shit to find the current name).

So antiseptic. It feels like a crappy bowl game.

There's no putting that shit back in the horse. Those games pay too much.

Can't have it both ways. Only way schools like that will schedule non-conference games they might lose (I hear bitching about non-conference games on this board all season every season) is if the payout justifies the risk.

Convenience over accuracy. No wonder this business is dying!

Insane to believe the only possible way Wisconsin and Alabama could play is in a neutral, antiseptic location. Like the Bama program is going to fall apart if they have to travel to Madison, and then host Wisconsin the following year.

We should have a "College football non conference bitchfest" thread. That way, we can put all of that garbage under one umbrella.

    No kidding.

It's simply about money and recruiting.

Playing in Madison does nothing for Alabama's bottom line or its recruiting profile. Playing in Dallas, er Arlington, gets them a multi-million-dollar check and exposes them to players in one of the most fertile recruiting hotbeds in the country.

Steak showing his longstanding anti-Vol bias, I see.

    How so?

By not putting the Bowling Green line on there?

    It's Vols minus-20.5.

I think this is way overblown. They can't host recruits because it isn't a home game. Those recruits probably aren't paying the outrageous money it takes to score tickets and parking at the Jerrydome. The TV signal from Camp Randall or Bryant-Denny comes through just as clearly. And in Bama's case, it now visits Texas every other season anyway.

This is a straight cash grab.
