They didn't ignore Williamson. But even he can't bust through two defenders. Two defenders is not to be confused with double-team ... it's the way Jim Boeheim plays the matchup zone.

Duke didn't station someone at the top of the lane (near where most of the schools put the "ACC logo" just inside the free throw line). Put one there, and usually one in the corner, where the zone doesn't reach. Tough to put a shooter in both corners and one in the middle because then transition defense becomes a problem should that corner 3 attempt clang off the rim.

But too often, Duke found out that the middle wasn't going to open up no matter what it did. Jack White was 0-for-1o beyond the arc. O'Connell and Barrett are the only real 3-point threats. Advantage: Syracuse.

And now Tre Jones has a separated shoulder and is out a while. While they'll probably get Cam Reddish back for Virginia, they'd be wise to work on spacing, ball movement and shooting. Special emphasis on that last one ... Tony Bennett's packline defense is known to be stingy to those going inside.

On the other hand, ask UMBC how to beat it. Make perimeter shots.

Intramurals, baby! Doesn't Okie State have intramurals?

You grab the top 3 or 5 dudes from intramurals (who are academically eligible) and you have your roster fillers.

I'd say it's just a coach clearing out a roster for more of "his" players, but Boynton was an assistant for two years there before getting the head gig last year.

Internal promotions are down a strike before they step in the box. This guy is probably in big trouble.

Yep. Classic case of hiring the only person who would take the job. Dire financial straits in Berkeley will make it hard to find a decent successor when the time does come.

No reason to rush the court Wisconsin. You’re now 14-2 at home against Michigan

True. Act like you’ve been there.
For this team, however, this win may end up being the result that gets them in the tournament.

How many times were they ranked #1?

    Michigan is 2/4

Rushing the court against a conference opponent you’ve owned at home, in January, is bush.
