Joe Scott out at the University of Denver.

Rex Walters out at the University of San Francisco.

DU hoops will always play second-fiddle to DU hockey but USF has a good hoops tradition and that could be a decent mid-major job.

Rex might be my favorite player of all time, but he's got a dickish streak in him that served him well as a player, but probably doesn't work as a head coach.

    Rutgers is open too.

The Santa Clara job opened five minutes after they lost in the WCC tournament.

There's some talk that Lavin might be interested in USF -- his dad played there and is in the school's Hall of Fame, and Steve grew up in Marin.

Ed Conroy learned Tulane had decided to whack him during tonight's game. He proceeded to lead the Green Wave to an upset of Houston. Here's hoping he keeps going. Would be hilarious.

Tough week for the Conroy family. I think he's Pat's nephew

    Times 1000x more.

No one has ever been more impressed with Rex Walters than Rex Walters.

Is there another mid-major that a shady coach took to the Final Four once that he could follow as the next head coach?

I idolized Rex Walters as a kid. Cut my hair like him. Worked to make my game some kind of combination of him and Adonis Jordan. I don't think it's a coincidence that shit talking, chip on his shoulder Rex Walters carried Roy to a Final Four and the groups of goody two shoes that followed couldn't.

But you got to accomplish something as a coach and get players to buy in before you can get away with being that kind of asshole.
