Coach Hoodie stealing signals?

    Why is it the Pats play fast and loose with the rules?
    Oh, yeah, because the league lets them.
    Maybe Goodell will do what Tags never did and put that arrogant little prick Belichick in his place -- like suspended for 4 games.

    I'm thinking that Mangini knew about this which is why the Pats were caught to begin with.

    Also, I don't see how steeling signs would be so much work. You have a cameraman filming with another video monitor being watched. The guy watching tells the offensive coordinator what the play is that the defense just called and, because the QB has a headset, calls down to the QB to change up the play or set a new play.

    The defense will always get their plays in first because the offense has the option of no-huddle offenses and the like. I see this as a no brainer.

    Like Parcells said -- just have three guys on the sideline giving the signals. Whoever's calling the plays in the huddle will know which one to look at; the other team won't.

    having multiple signal callers on the sidelines is the norm in the NFL.....almost all teams have 3 people sending in signs, and only the players on the field know which to follow.

    Using video is just stupid and so unnecessary....

    But so Belichick...that's why he's a fucking genius.

    Did you consider that the use of multiple signal callers might be WHY they were using videotape?

    That safeguard certainly is enough to cross up anyone trying to decipher signals during the game. But if you've pre-videotaped guys giving signals with time to go home and study at length beforehand, good chance you'll notice patterns that give away which guy is giving the actual calls.

    Agreed. And the issue isn't what the Jets could have done to prevent their signals from being stolen. The issue is whether or not the Patriots broke the rules or not. It sure sounds like they did.

    It looks like they broke the rules on Sunday and last season. Now, does Goodell order an investigation into the Belichick-era Pats to see how often they stole signals and when (regular season, playoffs, Super Bowl)? What if the alleged cheating has been prevalent? What does the commish do? A season-long suspension? Million dollar-plus fines? Taking multiple picks away from Team Paranoia?

    For the person who asked about a forfeit, there's no way it'd ever happen. Bookies and the legal books would be livid.

    My suggestion of a forfeit was a bit of hyperbole.

    But really, taking away a draft pick or three? That's punishment?

    If this is proven and it's not the first time, Belichick should be suspended.

    He'll just text plays to his coordinators from the couch, anyway.

    Fines = probable
    Draft picks = possible
    Belichick suspension = unlikely
    Forfeit = no fucking way
